蜡式节温器的工作原理

Ceramic thermostat works by controlling the opening and closing of the valve through the deformation of the paraffin in the high and low temperature state. The specific working principle of the wax-type thermostat is as follows:

1. When the water temperature is below 349K (76℃), the main valve is completely closed, and the bypass valve is completely open. The cooling water from the coolant passage flows directly into the water pump, so it is called a small loop. Since the water only flows between the water pump and the water jacket and does not pass through the heat exchanger, the flow is small, and the cooling intensity is weak.

2. When the cooling water temperature is between 349K and 359K (76℃ ~ 86℃), both the small and large cycles are running simultaneously. When the water temperature in the engine reaches 349K (76℃), the paraffin gradually turns into a liquid and increases in volume, forcing the rubber hose to shrink and push the center rod down. Since the upper end of the rod is fixed, the center rod pushes the rubber hose and the sensor down against the spring force, causing the main valve to open gradually and the bypass valve to close gradually.

3. When the water temperature inside the engine rises to 359K (86℃), the main valve is completely open, and the bypass valve is completely closed, and the cooling water flows completely through the heat exchanger, which is called a large loop. Since the flow is large and the flow is long, the cooling intensity is strong.
